As part of the TransZeroWaste 2nd Review Meeting, project partners had the opportunity to visit the Dillinger steel production facilities in Dillingen, Germany. The visit provided a comprehensive overview of the company’s industrial operations and offered valuable insights into large-scale steel production.
During the guided tour, participants followed the different stages of the production process, gaining a better understanding of how raw materials are transformed into steel products. The visit covered key production areas and highlighted the technological achievements and industrial capabilities that support modern steel manufacturing.
For many partners, the visit represented an important opportunity to connect the research activities of the TransZeroWaste project with real industrial environments. Seeing the production process first-hand helped to contextualise the project’s work on recycling iron-bearing by-products, improving resource efficiency and supporting more sustainable steel production.
The tour also allowed participants to exchange views with experts from Dillinger.
