Reflecting on a Successful Workshop: Advancing the Role of Slags in the Circular Economy
TransZeroWaste had the privilege of participating in the ESTEP & FEhS Slag Workshop on March 5-6, 2025, in Duisburg, Germany. The event brought together key stakeholders from the steel industry, research institutions, and policymakers to discuss the critical role of slags and other by-products in the circular economy.
During our presentation titled: “The role of slags and other by-products within circular economy in the steel industry”, we highlighted the latest developments in the TransZeroWaste project, emphasizing:
🔹 Innovative strategies for slag valorization in line with the EU’s Green Deal goals.
🔹 The challenges and opportunities of decarbonization and circularity in the steel industry.
🔹 Potential new applications for steel by-products, ensuring a sustainable industrial ecosystem.
